The contents of this article are geared (excuse the pun??) towards the more experienced racer... If you don’t already have a bit of knowledge on general motor maintenance and the glossary of terms associated with it, I would suggest you first do some R/C Rag reading to familiarize yourself with these things.. Other than that, these tips for motor improvements can be applied by everyone and useful to everyone.. These tips have been used by racers for years to take a few extra tenths off per lap.. That may not sound like much to those of us who are still trying to just keep it between the lines but that is the reason that Team Racers can beat their competitors on a consistent basis..

Not all of these tips are just for an extra tenth per lap.. The Pro starts off by suggesting how to choose a motor.. He also covers brush and spring maintenance / aligning brush hoods / brush break-in / commutator sticks and cleaning your motor properly.. As I said before The Pro doesn’t have to worry about corporate advertisements, so doesn’t hesitate to point out the inexpensive way to do things.. As in , “instead of paying ’x’ amount of dollars for that expensive doohicky- just do this” This is another well thought out and well written article that would be a great addition to your R/C ‘hop-ups’
