I've always had my eye on the R/C video tapes advertised in the R/C mags..But I've resisted the urge to order them because of the expenses involved for us Canadians to order anything from the U.S.(IE: minimum $10 shipping costs etc.).

Well...Luckily for me, a group of young Canadian entrepreneurs have decided to make their own Extreme R/C Video..

I know what you are thinking...Yahoo??...Another Canadian production!!...We're not exactly known for our blockbusters.. Put that thought out of your mind..These guys (its really the brain child of one guy, but a lot of people helped him out)have put together an awesome piece of fast paced R/C mayhem..

XXX-Main..The Video wasn't produced in "some guy's" back yard..It wasn't put together with some cheesy "stolen" music from some unknowing bands.. Indeed..This video spans North America..It includes clips of "the real racers" in the U.S.. Guys that you know by name alone..Cyrul,Saxton,Francis,Drake,Bradley,Dunn and even a couple of appearances from the up and comer 13 year old wiz kid...Jared Tebo....

In this case, you get to hear some comments from them and also see the intense concentration in their eyes on the driver's stand.Its not hard to understand why guys such as this are world champion caliber..

I found that the presentation of the individual scenes worked very well...The production guys did a heck of a job cutting and splitting the hours of tape submitted to them...It doesn't just go from one item to the next...For instance..(I really don't want to give anything away here...but)..There were a few attempts at a certain stunt..They didn't just keep trying it over and over then move on to the next scene...They tried it once..Went onto some other stuff..Then they tried it again and so on until you get to see the successful stunt..The end result is awesome and I really think you will enjoy the difference as I have...

Canadian Content??....Absolutely..A lot of the scenes were shot in and around Mississauga..(That's Southern Ontario for you "out of towners")...Be sure to keep an eye out for a few appearances from The R/C Guy's (my) very own HPI RS4 Pro (Red/White/Black/British Touring Car paint scheme).. Yahoo..I'm famous!!..No credits though..GGGRRR!!

XXX MAIN - The Video starts out with some great camera work of an R/C Sedan driving around the streets of Mississauga.. From there to the finish is nothing short of fast paced, heart racing action!!

The Sound Track....Three local hard rocking/punkish/metalish bands put all this action to music..If you watch closely you will see that some major choreography has taken place..The music isn't just playing in the background..It is part of the action...It almost looks as if the bands sat at their T.V.s and wrote the tunes as they watched the video..Great job guys..

Now for my public service announcement!!...XXX-Main is a little extreme...You get an in-depth picture of what life "on the road" is like for a bunch of crazy young R/C racers..They do get up to some "highjinks", you see the occasional misuse of a certain finger(I noticed this twice only), and there is some suggestive stuff(sexuality wise).. But it isn't rampant or explicit and I believe that with a little parental guidance for the very young, it will still be an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Final Thought;??

OK...Here is my advice to you avid R/Cers out there...Get yourself a heapin' helpin' of popcorn and your beverage of choice.Make sure your VCR is hooked up to your stereo..Crank it up!!...Keep your eyes peeled..Stuff happens really fast in XXX MAIN - The Video. You are in for one wild ride on the back of an awesome sound track and a visual assault on your eyes from start to finish..Feel free to purchase your very own copy of XXX-MAIN - The Video directly from R/C Ontario. It's 40 minutes long and with winter on the way you can still get your R/C fix by enjoying this video over and over. Don't forget that rewind button...!!
