XXX MAIN - Monster TRUCK_X

Monster Truck R/C Video

I had just finished my electric Monster Truck when news of this new XXX Main DVD came out..Monster Truck DVD...Very cool..Can't wait..

Jeff Eveleigh, the creator of XXX MAIN, and I met the other day and he was kind enough to supply me with my very own DVD copy of XXX MAIN - Monster TRUCK_X. And a few other XXX Main products ; )...Including some hot new XXX Main paint masks that I'll be using very soon as part of a "How To: Paint" section in R/C Ontario...

Monster TRUCK_X is a little more tame than XXX Main DVD's I've seen in the past..It seems more of a showcase for Monster trucks as vehicles and performers than a showcase for the guys that run them
But don't let that fool you..I have to say that this is the best XXX Main DVD as far as cinematography is concerned..Jeff Eveleigh and his partner, Wes While ,were the sole producers of Monster TRUCK_X and I really think they have done a great job
Monster TRUCK_X really is about Monster trucks and how they perform..From ripping up grass, dirt & snow, to jumping over this and that...

I had decided half way through which Monster Truck I would be getting if I were looking for one and I really think Monster TRUCK_X will be responsible for increased truck sales for all the sponsors involved in this DVD..
Speaking of sponsors..Monster TRUCK_X is sponsored by many current hot truck companies and their R/C Monster Trucks are highlighted throughout this DVD..Including a DVD feature of individual trucks..Click on the HPI option for instance and you get to see the HPI Savage put through the paces..Very nice touch.. Other sponsors involved in this DVD include Kyosho, XTM, Team Associated and Duratrax..
Some fresh bands were collected from around the net and around the globe for the soundtrack to XXX Main Monster TRUCK_X ..Look for tracks by Bentvalve, Plans For Revenge, Park, Over It, Better Off Dead, Monkeynut, 30 Seconds Of Shame, and My Beautiful Secret..As we've come to expet from XXX Main the music/video sequencing is awesome..Crank it up and let 'er rip..
The intro's to XXX Main DVD's are becoming a kind of signature for these guys and XXX Main Monster TRUCK_X is no exception..
Very well done..I think you'll enjoy it as I did..Especially on the big screen TV..Wahoo!!!..As usual things just get faster from there..

Here is a quote from the creater of XXX Main and the XXX Main Monster TRUCK_X
"At xxx main Racing we've decided to separate our crazy video productions from our marginally crazy productions. We are going to continue making the xxx main series of videos which will include the fire, chicks, carnage, parties, and craziness but we'll also be releasing a new breed of videos that target the technical aspects of the hobby, filming, and editing to truly capture what these vehicles are capable of. We haven't gone soft or corporate, we're just testing new waters with our productions to appeal to a broader range of viewers. X3 will be released at the tail end of 2004 and will be just as tweaked as ever."

With regards to the making of this truck video. "Trucks are fricken fun to drive but the capabilities of the vehicles are not what we are used to. They drive over anything but when we setup a jump scene that requires some huge air or an extremely responsive vehicle we rarely get the shot we were expecting. With the same sort of power as a 1/8 scale buggy but almost twice the weight and an extremely high center of gravity you simply can't place the vehicle where you want it when you want it. The other major hurtle we had to deal with was the lack of World class drivers to film with. We shot with some amazing people and had a great time but the high caliber of driver that we were used to filming with just aren't into Monster Trucks. Usually we tell Josh Cyrul to hit this ramp and jump that house or Richard Saxton rocks some huge air out of the skate park or Adam Drake drives his car directly between the wheels of a moving Honda and these drivers can handle the specifics. Most Monster Truckers have a beer in one hand and an RC controller in the other. They just don't have the "stick time" to do some of the technical shots. Like I said, we met some of the coolest drivers around and partied lots but the driving was a little harder to film as compared to what we were used to. This all created some huge road blocks in the production of this video and much of our past driving and filming styles had to be altered to finalize the video in the way we wanted it done. We have some ideas to step up the levels a few notches for Monster TRUCK_X2 though, so keep an eye open for that.
